Zentner Collection
SOLD Tibetan bronze gilt statue of Kubera, known as the "Lord of Wealth and the North". He originates from Hindu mythology but is also recognized in Buddhism and Jainism. He holds a mongoose as a symbol of his victory over the Nagas, snakelike deities and guardians over treasures. He sits upon the back of a lionlike creature and has an arch of flames with gilt tips behind him. The jewels on his crown and around his neck are dotted with blue and red enamel.

SOLD Exquisite Antique Japanese pair of large garden lanterns. Each is made of cast iron in 10 sections. The roof of each has raised writing, the lantern portions are decorated with kiri blossoms. The pedestals are coiled around with dragons in low relief, the base of each has high relief fu-dogs. Very difficult to collect.

Sold in our Liverpool Shop - September 2015 / 利物浦店内售出 - 2015年9月 A porcelain bowl painted with over glaze "famille rose" enamels depicting a flowering peony shrub issuing from a stylized blue rock. This item was made in China for export to Europe during the second quarter of the 18th Century.
Condition: very good - there is a 1.7cm chip to the inside of the footrim; no other damages and no restoration.

19th Century, finely Hand-Carved Netsuke depicting a Large Shishi that is playfully pushing a ball with its left paw stands on a platform right next to a kneeling Karako that appears to be offering a treat to the Lion Dog. Action Figure with powerful form and expression. Stained for effect. The platform is decorated with peonies.
