Women’s skirt from the Bahnar (Ba Na) ethnic group from the Central Highlands of Vietnam, woven from fine handspun cotton using all natural dyes. The weaving is very intricate and refined, note the use of narrow warp ikat bands throughout this piece. This is one single panel which would have used to make three other skirts. Chinese snuff bottle carved from turquoise mottled with natural dark brown veining. The front is carved in relief with a cat staring intently upwards at a nearby flying insect, surrounded by flora. The reverse is carved in relief with a bird perched on a flowering tree branch. The turquoise lidded stopper carved with lingzhi mushroom motif.

Chinese antique snuff bottle, carved entirely from turquoise in the form of a small adorable toad. The lower body of the toad appears more green and transitions to the classic turquoise blue in the upper body and face. the stone is mottled with natural dark brown oxide veining. The small toad is carved with a smiling, open mouth with a carved turquoise stopper.

Japanese set of 10 blue and white sobachoko or soba cups. With cobalt blue underglaze floral motifs and ocean landscapes, double ring below the inner rim, and a floral medallion in the center of the well with single ring. The foot is slightly recessed and left unglazed except for the center.

A Chinese porcelain vase covered with beautiful flambe glaze, and decorated with a pair of molded mask and ring handles on the shoulder. 18th century. Condition: The foot rim is lightly ground; chips around inside the foot rim which happened before firing. No other flaw other than these. Height: 13-3/4".

A lacquer box decorated with a Rimpa style thatched house under blossoming tree by Kamisaka Sekka dating from the late Taisho period. It is 12.5 x 12.5 x 6 cm (5 x 5 x 2 inches) and is in excellent condition. An identical box which was part of the permanent collection of the Ruth and Sherman Lee Institute along with the original design sketch is visible on page 154 of the book Kamisaka Sekka: Rimpa Master - Pioneer of Modern Design published by the Kyoto National Museum of Modern Art in 2003. ...

Splendid and absolutely rare double vase of old Karatsu-yaki. It has a vivid Chosen-Karatsu glaze, and the grandiose embellishment of color creates a sublime sense of tension between the dark glazed and color infusion.

This is a children's kimono used in Kyoto during the Edo period. This is depicted in Tsutsugaki. This is exactly the bold expression only Tsutsugaki has. It is the carps, waves and rocks, movements are boldly expressed in Tsutsugaki. It is a three-dimensional expression. It has a sharp color. This is expressed in high quality natural indigo and is impressive. It has four pinholes and a few slight stains, but it does not stand out. Size length 92 cm 36.2 inch width 88 cm 34.6 inch
