Sold. Thank you A very rare and beautiful Pyu agate carved bird. A hole is drilled from the top of the head to the bottom of the bird so it can be worn as a pendant. The bird is still the symbol for Burma. Size: L. 3cm.

SOLD Beautiful Japanese antique highly carved butsudan panel, carved with scene of two dragons in swirling clouds and crashing waves, black and gilt lacquer with details in red, the eyes of the dragons are made of reverse painted glass, framed in black lacquer frame with copper hardware. This piece was once a ranma or transom over the interior doors of a large Buddhist butsudan shrine.
Meiji Period.
Size: 9" high x 44" long. Carving is up to 3" deep.

SOLD A large Kansai area issho tansu made from keyaki and sugi woods. Copper handles are used on the sliding door panels and a special cabinet with a lock is set on the bottom area of the chest. Tansu such as these were often placed in the private quarters of the home and clothes, family documents, and important objects were placed inside. SOLD A Chinese couplet scroll in calligraphy excerpting from a work composed by the noted literati scholar, Su Dongpo from the Song Dynasty. Work contains the signature and seal of Zheng Xiaoxu (1860-1938).The two line couplet expresses how as there are different ways to point out the errors in an embroidered robe, or a crane hesitating to fly has yet to mature into an immortal. SOLD A Chinese landscape painting done on a gold paper base done in the style of Zhang Da Qian. The work contains a signature and seal of Zhang Da Qian's noted disciple Sun Yunsheng (1918-2000). Zhang Da Qian established a style influenced from traditional Chinese landscape paintings combined with Song Dynasty style ink wash landscapes. Work is dated in June of 1975. Age: 20th century Size; Length: 64" Height 38.5"

Sold to China - November 2013 售至中国 - 2013 年11月 A rare ovoid vase on high flaring foot painted in shades of underglaze blue and made in China for export to Europe during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722).
Condition: there is "fritting" (production glaze loss) to the base (please view enlargements) and there are very minor glaze imperfections; there are no cracks and there has been no restoration.
14.5cm (5.7inches) high.

Sold in our Liverpool shop -December 2014 / 利物浦店内售出 - 2014年12月 A painted lacquer panel decorated with carved bone, ivory and "composition" figures depicting a farmer and a boy in a mountain landscape. This item was made in Japan, for export, during the Meiji period (1868-1911)
Condition: very good - minor losses to the boy's fishing net and to some of the white paint; no restoration and no further losses.
45.2cm (17.9inches) high; 30cm (11.9inches) wide.
