Ordinary, shigaraki pieces are fired in the anagama fire woods kiln, however this pieces is carved and colored with pigment, And fired in the kiln with charcoal. The pattern is called "shikishi kasane" a pair of square piece of fancy papers. It's a happy theme. The white grains are feldspar included in shigaraki clay.

A green-glazed jarlet was mold in a trumpet form. On the wide shoulder, a circular band of flower motifs were decorated in a fine look. It was well preserved except some old frets were found on the rims. Fine crackles and iridescence condition were yielded due to age. Date: Liao Dynasty, 907-1125. Width: 10.9cm, Height: 7.3cm. A gilt silver plaque was well decorated with motifs of QiLinSongZi, a most popular Chinese metaphor of the fairy animal Qilin sending child to the vowing family. By characteristic Chinese scenes of pagoda, plum trees, Qilin and the figure riding through the water waves, the picturesque scene was well carved and chiseled by excellent craftsmanship. It was a piece most likely a buckle on the cloth belt. There're old drilling holes on four corners for sewing thread.

A fine white-tinted shallow bowl was in perfect condition. In characteristic Dingyao milky-white glaze, the bowl owned the also white-tinted body clay which in characteristic tense and greasy feel quality. Incursions had happened to the rims and on the surface. It is very rare to find a real Ding ware in such obvious characteristic condition. It is a small piece but can be a very good proof. Date: Liao Dynasty, 907-1125. Width: 10.3cm, Height:... A silver basket with handle, with design of birds and plum blossoms in open-work. Base with two maker's mark in Chinese. Condition: few traces of usage. Dimension: 13.5 cm long, height: c. 11 cm, weight: 108 g.
