Very fine and rare KANGXI (1662-1722) Blue & White Porcelain Stem Bowl depicting foilage, butterflies, an egret, flowers and lotus with a center medallion. Flared rim with a Lingzhi head design. Chinese late Qing dynasty export porcelain jardinière, or planter, decorated around the circumference in famille rose enamels with an assortment of precious objects set against a white ground. A ruyi head border encircles the exterior rim and a geometric band is above the foot. The canted rim is decorated in an orange-red band. Japanese Imari Porcelain Black Ship and Namban design Bowl and Cover, 3 1/4" high & 5 1/8" diameter-with cover, 2 1/4" high & 4 3/4" diameter-bowl, later part of 1800's Meiji period, with overglaze decoration of six(6) Dutchmen and black ship in iron red background, highlighted in gold. This beautiful chawan (tea bowl) was made in the oribe style, a more than four hundred year old tradition from the central part of Japan in the ancient Mino province.

That tradition was in part influenced by tea master and warrior Furuta Oribe (1545-1615) who developed his own style of tea ceremony. The bowl is very well made and in perfect condition. It dates from the mid Edo Period and has no repairs or damages except inborn kiln cracks. The green glaze is very vivid and strong.
