This is a finely hand-carved netsuke in Ebony wood of a Nasube (Aubergine or eggplant). Netsuke was carved by an unknown artist from the Iwami Province sometime during the 19th century. The carving exhibits similar material and carving characteristics of a netsuke (Photo #7) made by Kyokusui; item 133* of Bonhams catalog. This is a Well-hollowed, Flattened, Circular form translucent Apple Green Jadeite Snuff Bottle with a flared neck, flat lip, wide mouth, recessed, slightly convex foot, and flattened foot rim; the sides carved with two crouching mice that are shown with their tails swung along the front and reverse sides of the bottle. An old Chinese stone carving on a wood stand of two boys setting off a firecracker. In very good condition, it measures 4" high, 5" long, and 3" wide.

A genuine SONG DYNASTY,(960-1279 A.D.) CHINA, JAR WITH 4 LOOPS. Glazed in honey color, except for bottom area and base. Size: height 6.25" (16 cm.). Good condition overall.

A metal box which contains an ink stone to grind ink sticks for writing. The box has been cast in light colored brass and has a copper bottom. The ink stone is secured in the lid with a spring frame. The top of the box shows a beautifully engraved lotus flower with leafs and a bud.
