A fine root wood figure depicting an aged Daoist Immortal, holding a ruyi scepter in one hand and standing on a high rock surrounded by waves in an imaginary sea . The head of the Immortal is partly carved while the body and partly the stand are naturally shaped. Made of two parts fixed together. Ming Dynasty, 17th cent. H. 20,5 cm. A pair of exquisite fluted porcelain bottles decorated in rich color by Living National Treasure Tokuda Yasokichi I enclosed in the original signed wooden box. This rare and interesting pottery model of a pack horse, or pony, was made during the Northern Wei Dynasty (AD 386 - 534). It is made from a buff-coloured pottery that has been "cold painted" with a base coat of white pigment on top of which has been applied black pigment. Note the detail of the pack on its back that includes two water containers and a rabbit.

Antique Japanese small two-panel screen painting of Kiyomizu-dera temple. The scene shows the famous main hall platform that stands high above the trees on a cliff overlooking Kyoto. A beautiful set of ten small shallow dishes, each uniquely decorated with a poem and image from the Edo period Sasashima Kiln of central Nagoya.
