Antique Japanese bench elaborately carved with dragons, fitted with custom cushion of red silk with dragon pattern, flip top seat (with matching throw cushions inside), back carved with two large dragons and three reserves with dragons and a phoenix in the center, arms in the shape of dragons, beautifully carved, Meiji Period. Zen triptych scroll by Sesson Shukei (1504?-1589) The set of three are paintings of a radish and nappa cabbage with Lao Tzu riding a bull as its centerpiece. Scroll set comes with a box with paper labels naming the object and figure in the painting. One label reads that one of the Kano Eisen (the first or second) had provided an opinion, but the orignal document does not exist anymore. Age: Late Muromachi 16th century. Chinese vase with clay sculpture of a dragon on the top of the vase. The vase is decorated with ancient to old bronze coins from different eras of Chinese history. In the middle, there is an inscription written about the history of Chinese coin minting technology. The calligraphy is titled: Gu Qian Ton Shuo, the story of the ancient coins. Calligraphy is signed and dated; May of 1884, brushed by Qian long shi yuan Zhao Zhun guang. Age; 19th century. Size: Diameter: 14" Height: 23.75"

The head of the Buddha, carved with benevolent expression, almond-shaped eyes, fragmentary pierced elongated earlobes, straight triangular nose, his hair arranged in rows of stylized curls. This extremely hard to find pre-Khmer piece dates back to circa 350 AD, probably Khrom. Made of black hard stone it is 7 In (17 cms) height of the piece mount not included. A stunning Globular Bizen vase like burnished bronze covered by a dusting of ash by living National Treasure Yamamoto Toshu enclosed in an artist signed wooden box. A large Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD) cold-painted pot from an old Japanese scholar collection enclosed in an ancient kiri-wood storage box bearing a great many stamps inside the lid. The fine clay is covered in elaborate designs in red, white brown and orange pigment. The piece is 11 inches (28 cm) tall. There is minor damage to the rim but no repair or restoration; a fine example of Han Dynasty painted pottery in fine condition.

Well proportioned with a nice facial expression, fine engraving and wonderful patina. H. 48 cm.
