A modern sculpture from one solid piece is Acacia wood entitled "Whimsical Dancing Ballet of Ribbons." It is a free form standing object of art with its foot stem mounted in a custom made iron stand. Originating from Southeast Asia, this beautiful statue was made in Thailand.

Elegant ebony wood carving of a Balinese beauty circa 1960 to 1970- possibly older. This was obviously created for the tourist market and panders to the Western ideal of the female form of the time. I traveled to Bali in the 80s and 90s and found their arts and crafts leaning more to the impressionist side, where figures looked like the Navi from Avatar. Given its hardness and cost, ebony is usually only given to master craftsman to carve from...

This model is a faithful representation of the American privateer ship built in New York at the beginning of the 19th century. The model is of exceptional quality. It may be that it was built from a kit from the 70s but the multitude of excellent details leads me to believe that it is a unique work created from scratch by a virtuoso model maker. Although we know of many models of the "Prince of Neuchatel", none equals this one...

Head of a funeral statue, carved from wood, in the typical aesthetic style of the Batak sculpture. Fine age patina. Indonesia, Sumatra Island, Batak ethnic group. Height: 30 cm. Obvious signs of wear and age, otherwise good condition. A rather scarce object.

Finely carved chief sceptre with a genie sitting on its top, surmounting a squatting ancestor, under which are geometric relief designs leading to the lower part. Wood, with nice glossy patina. Southease Asian teak wood carving of serving bowl of indigenous form with a strong square handle. Age mid 20th century. Size: 25" length x 22" diameter x 5" height

Hand carved wood angel with glass eyes from a rural Catholic church in the Philippines. Comes with a wood gold colored horn which rests on its hand. Measures 34" high; Wings total 16" across. Circa 1940-50s. Condition very good, some age cracks.

Very old small "korwar", or funeral altar, representing a human figure with a huge head, standing on a rounded base, legs half bent, and holding with both hands an elaborated openwork shield. Wood, with fine age patina. Indonesia, Papua Province, Cenderawasi Bay. Height: 23.7 cm. Strong abrasion due to age, old accidents, otherwise good condition.

Wonderfully carved wooden Lanna Tiger, the hole in the mouth means this could be worn as amulet or placed on an altar. On the bottom is a lightly incised spiral glyph underneath the base indicate this was meant to be protect the owner. Bear in mind that amulets are very popular in Thailand and most are mass produced in either as terra cotta tablet or cast in metal- this is a one of a kind piece. H: 7.5cm/3in and W: 4.8cm/1.9in.

Unusual architectural element, carved in the form of a smiling man standing on the head of a water buffalo ("carabao"). This element was part of the decoration inside a house. Wood, semi glossy patina. Indonesia, Flores Island, mid 20th century. Height: 44 cm. The element is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Very good condition despite some remnants of insect infestation (no danger).

A auspicious colorful carved wedding box with birds and animals in red and gold from tribal Malays. Age: 1930's. Size: L. 50cm. H. 25cm. W. 14cm. Condition; No repairs.

A very good sized sculpture of Pedanda, a Brahman priest of the highest caste. This is a traditional sculpture, not a piece for tourists. It's made of hard wood, very intricately carved and has a subtle polychrome. H. 51 cm. Condition: expected age wear and a few age cracks. Please refer to the detailed pictures. An Indonesian Mask carved in the form of a monkey. The mask is carved into two separate section, one is the top area of the head and the bottom is the jaw area.
