$300.00 19th century hand carved Asian figural cheroot pipe with a Mother-of-Pearl disk inset on each side and a dark red lacquer rim. A very unusual and collectible pipe that was used "back in the day" when smoking cheroot in pipes was fashionable. Missing its stem which could have been metal or reed. Measures 3.5 inches long.

$7,500.00 An antique Papau New Guinea Yipwon figure of the Alamblak people. Anthropomorphic opposing hook style hardwood carving. A large one such as this was collectively owned by clans and worshipped to bring victory to battles and success during hunting. The Yipwon is the patron spirit of warfare and hunting. Custom metal fabricated stand supports the figure.

The lid adapts perfectly to the receptacle which required perfect mastery because the shape is wavy. On the "neck" of the lid are traced wide curves like so many necklaces on a female neck. This urn can be used with advantage to present jewelry. Here we have put as an example a Chinese necklace from the Neolithic period which is not for sale...
