This is Noragi used in Shiga area for the Meiji period. The trace which this is a white thread, and was repaired many times is very impressive. This is Kake-Fukusa used for Edo period. This is very superior in dyeing by Tsutsugaki and is luxurious. This is superior in processing in detail. As for this, Tsutsugaki and a luxurious combination of the embroidery are very impressive. Measures about 37” long (excluding collar) and about 32 1/2” across (sleeve tip to sleeve tip). Circa 1940. Very good overall condition with only a few tiny spots on one shoulder. It appears to have never been worn and has been kept stored safely away in an air-tight trunk. From the Tucson, Arizona estate of a World War II veteran.

This is Rikushakukanban-kimono used in the Tohoku district for Edo period. This is dyed with the natural indigo plant which thick hemp has good. The cannabis fiber is spun by hand in this respect.
