A delightful hand carved ivory netsuke of two boys in a Chinese New Year's Lion Dance parade costume. In excellent condition, it measures just under 1.5" high. Dates circa 1900, artist signed

Ivory netsuke representing a teacher sitting beside his disciple, the latter holding a book with his right hand and a "shishi lion" mask with his left hand. The netsuke is signed, also bears a small red mark, beneath. Japan, 19th century. Length: 40 mm. Height: 24 mm. Very good condition.

Ivory netsuke depicting a quail crouching on millet, carved with attention to detail on its feathers and body. The eyes are in horn. 19th Century, excellently hand-carved in rare Persimmon Wood Netsuke depicting a realistic version of a Cicada that is laying upon a half Walnut shell. Japanese carved wooden NETSUKE. Beautifully carved wood figure of FUKUROKUJU resting against his money bag. Unsigned. 1 1/4" length, 1 3/8" width by 1 1/16" tall.

Japanese five section lacquer inro in the hiramaki-e technique. The low relief gilt lacquer adds depth throughout the landscape composition of pine forest, distant ocean, mountainous terrain, and the famous Uji bridge. The black ground lacquer also shows the use of nashiji gold flecks creating mist and cloud formation. The interior of the compartments are covered with the nashiji gold flecks, resembling a pear skin effect...

Antique Japanese netsuke in the form of a fudog. Carved of boxwood, the fudog leans on a ball. With eyes wide and mouth open, his mane flows down his back. He curls his body around the ball, gripping it in three paws while balancing on his back leg. Age and use have added an appealing smooth quality of the netsuke.

Antique Japanese netsuke of a boy monk fast asleep on a temple bell, carved of boxwood with painted details, signed: Kyusai (1879-1938). He carved this netsuke between the ages of 36-49, well-known for carving mokugyo, temple bells, in various themes.

Japanese Boxwood Recumbent ox netsuke, wonderful detail, especially carved fur and hooves, inlaid ebony eyes, signed by Tomokazu, good condition, Edo Period. The style of the signature indicates c1790 Kyoto carver Kano Tomokazu when he was under the tutilage of Tomotada, prior to returning to Gifu. Size L 2.5" x H 1" x D 1"

A small bag made of deer skin with shibori (tie-dye) pattern. The brown color is dyed with the technique called "fusube-gawa". The deer skin is smoked with burning rice straws and gets brown color. Fusube-gawa is used for armors or wallets in Edo period. It has silk cords and lining. In excellent condition. Late 19th to early 20th century. 15cm x 18cm

Antique Japanese fu dog netsuke, with open mouth and front paw resting upon a hollow xi qui ball. Beautifully carved with attention to detail. A tiny ball has been carved to roll around loosely within its mouth. The bottom has been engraved with the artist's signature "Genryosai Minkoku". Lived and work in Edo, Japan. Antique Japanese small netsuke (inro toggle) carved in the form of a rural house under a large pine tree. The 2 story house, which is visible from three sides has multiple windows and a tiny figure standing in one. The pine tree with exaggerated branches grows on the side of the house, it's branches curving over it's roof. Carved of bone.
