Four(4) Japanese Imari Porcelain Soba Noodle Cups, Ca. late Edo to early Meiji period, mid 1800's, 2 5/8" high, 4" square-top rim, shaped square top rim with overglaze Comical figures on dark Red divided panels on four(4) sides, underglaze blue flying crane decoration on the bottom enclosed with blue decorative rim on top inside the cup. One(1) cup has one(1) glaze hairline about 1" long, barely visible, and some sand marks while firing in the kiln inside the cups.

A set of five yunomi by Suzuki Osamu enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Kao no Aru Yunomi. Each cup has a small face on one side, pale glaze covering all but that smiling fellow and the foote. Each cup is 3 inches (8 cm) tall and in fine condition...

Wonderful medium-sized crater bowl, thinly potted of black clay and with glossy black glaze pitted with craters for volcanic moon-like effect, Signed Lovera; James Lovera (American, 1920-2015) modernist potter. Beautiful Japanese Satsuma lidded jar featuring four different scenes with immortals. One scene includes a boy and another an animal. In excellent antique condition with wear to gold gilding, it measures 11.5 inches high x 8" widest point. Dates Meiji Period, circa 1880.

This white porcelain statue depicts a small seated Bodhisattva deep in meditation. Bodhisattva, otherwise known as bosatsu in Japan, are enlightened beings who have postponed Buddha-hood in order to remain on earth and help others to break their cycles of karma. The base of this statue is unglazed showing the fine porcelain clay from which it is crafted...

Three cups and saucer trays by Noritake, Japan, mid 50’s. Saucers shaped like water lily leaves – a modernist design also reminding of the painter’s palette shape so much in vogue in the 50’s in ceramics, jewelry, teak wood and more. The cups to fit at one side, in order to allow for a sandwich or some biscuits. The back with the N and ribbon mark in use from 1953. Width of saucers "9 ½ / 24 cm, height of cups "2 2/3 / 6.8 cm. Condition: fine.
