This is very fine Japanese white ceramic porcelain cup and saucer set. It is made by Tosho Kiln, Seto city in Japan. The quality of porcelain is superb with finely and thinly made body in the design of ribbed relief work. You can see thru the light when holding under light. A rare early form, the crawling Shino glaze covered in rich rust red with autumn grass in white silhouette by Mino pottery legend Suzuki Osamu (Kura) enclosed in the original wooden box signed on the side and titled Shino Hanaike on the lid. It is 26 cm (10-1/4 inches) tall and is in excellent condition.

A Japanese Arita porcelain plate or dish of circular form raised on a low foot. Decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with a Kingfisher perched amid grasses and lotus fronds, the base has a running Fuku mark. In excellent condition, it measures 6 inches diameter and 1" high.

Japanese Yunomi pair of beakers, one a little smaller than the other, husband and wife cups. Decoration of enameled / iroe carnation flowers in Kakiemon style and colours on a matted ground. Arita Nabeshima, Tsuji production signed Mayama Akira. Between the leaves to the left of each beaker there is further writing in Japanese. Height "3 ¼ / 8 and "3 ½ / 8.5 cm respectively. Condition: fine.

An elegant celadon receptacle with custom made black lacquered lid by important female potter Suwa Sozan II titled Seiji Mizusashi and enclosed in a wooden box annotated by the third generation head of the family.
