Heavy and solidly potted Chinese Qing dynasty baluster form porcelain jar decorated in the transitional style in underglaze blue with lotus flower heads among dense scrolling foliage set against a white ground. A border extends around the short, white glazed upright neck. The interior is fully glazed. 19th century. 12” high. Weighs 8 lbs. Very good overall condition. From the collection of a former American expatriate to China from 1983-1987.

Rare Chinese Warring States Small Painted Pottery Dog (Toy)

This very rare pottery animal, that we assume to be a dog, was made during the Warring States period (475 - 221 BC). It is made from a grey pottery that has been "cold painted" in creamy-white and pale red pigments. It simplicity and small size suggests it made have been made as child's toy.

A large, highly decorative, antique Chinese wall vase which shows a jar, with a frontal clock and two rams heads, that is filled with lotus flowers, leafs, pods and buds. The vase and its contents are potted from non-porcelain pottery clay and fired at a low temperature. The front of the vase is colored with over-glaze enamels. The back is not glazed and has one hole for hanging it on a wall...

A rare very little Budai in porcelain enameled in "famille rose" style.The iron red enamel of beautiful vivid colour. The god is seating. Very little size, probably this divinity was make for travellers. Budai was the god of good fortune,abundance of good health. and perhaps a dealer travelling keep him with him. Good condition, no restoration. Normal wear for centuries-old porcelain. China later 18th century earlier 19th. Hight: 4,8cm.

Large Chinese Ming / Yuan Dynasty Longquan Celadon Porcelain Dish with Peony Pattern

This large and "heavily-potted" dish was made in the 14th century at one of the Longquan kilns in Zhejiang province, during the Yuan (AD 1279 - 1368) or early Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). It is the archetypal large Longquan celadon dish, an example of which should really be in every serious collection of Chinese ceramics.

It has a fluted cavetto and a carved peony in its centre...

The body is composed of two phoenixes, the heads of the birds naturally forming the handles. The stone is very hard, green speckled with translucent white. The cover is also formed of 2 birds, it is not pierced so it is possible that it is not a censer, although it can be used without a cover. It is placed on a finely carved hardwood base. There are some numbers stamped inside, probably so as not to mix up the bases. China 20th century around the 70s. Good condition...

Porcelain Shou-Lao. In one hand he holds a stick ending in a deer's head which is usually his companion, and in the other hand a peach of longevity. The glassure is covered with enamels of the rose family. It is rare to encounter this type of porcelain Divinity of very small size. The Iron red is of the best colour. A lack of glaze on the tip of the nose and a crack on the right cheek,look photo. No restauration. High: 13.5cm

Two rares silver elements with embossed decoration representing scrolls of plants and flowers animated by butterflies and animals which could be rats, dormice or squirrels? It is likely that these 2 elements are the ends of the axle of a paint roller. Chinese goldsmith work from the 19th century or before. Small hard stone vase, probably jadeite. Pale green color spotted with white and bright green with brown veins. The polish of the stone is rather matte than shiny. Finely carved hardwood base. Chinese work 19° or early 20° century. The dull polish of the stone would lead us to date it to the end of the Qing or earlier. Good condition, no restoration, the veins of the stone are not glued and are solid. Total height: 14cm. Vase without the base 11cm.
