A choice pair of decorative pottery figures of House Attendants, dating to Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644.

The figures are dressed in dark blue and turquoise robes and carry high hats on their heads. They both appear to be carriers of their masters carriage. They are placed on square plints. Heads and boots with pigmented colors.

Height: c. 22-23 cm.

Condition: A superb pair of pottery figures with wear for age and type.

A Cizhou porcelain caddy was found with original lotus-leaf cover.
In unique russet glaze, the caddy was exemplified the excellent decorative art of Cizhou wares.

Date: Yuan Dynasty 13th century.

Description:
A Cizhou pillow was preserved in very good condition.
When decorated on the frontal side with incised motifs of fishes, flowers and water weeds and by a ring-punched ground, the pillow was left being unglazed at the bottom.
Naturally and vibrantly carved, the motifs were rendered in a dated photographic characteristic which we usually seen in the wares of northern regions of early periods.

Description: A Cizhou porcelain dog was handcrafted by the rural potter. Intriguingly molded in a simple form and adorned with iron mottles on the surface, the dog stands on his feet in a cute way. Probably a toy piece for the children of the tribes people, this small dog still can be a joyful addition in your collecting fantasy. Obvious crackles were yielded due to age. An old soapstone seal was in very good mood of scholar taste.

Two lions were vibrantly rendered on the top of the seal as a knob.

While well maneuvered inscriptions were on four side of the stamp.

For Chinese literati, the scholar taste was most treasured, by the meaning of the inscriptions and by the craftsmanship of the carving on the inscription.The seal obtained all these characteristics.

And the tint of this stone was in great mood too...
