A superb Collector's MING DYNASTY, CHUNG-CHENG (1628-1643), BLUE AND WHITE SNUFF BOTTLE depicting several figures in action as well as seldom encountered relief/carved/raised masks on each side. The base is marked with a double circle and 4 Chinese Characters of the Period. The neck of the snuff bottle has special pattern décor markings. This is an authentic neolithic nephrite jade adze/chisel, measuring some 9" (22cm) in length and 1" (2.5cm) in width. A heavy, substantial piece, guaranteed ancient. The stone is a beautiful deep green with substantial dark inclusions. The tapered end shows apparent signs of use.
