Large Chinese Guanyin Temple statue made of Jade, with changing jade colours from light green to green, yellow, grey and black. This solid figure is seated on a double lotus flower, one hand holding the pearl and the other a vase.

The Guanyin is in great antique condition with very detailed carvings. Absolutely rare and one of a kind. It dates from the Mid Qing Period (circa late 18th. century)...

Chinese Grey Sand Stone Mortar with high relief raised Peach decoration outside, 4 1/2" high, 8" diameter on top, round shape mortar with hexagonal shape base. Couple of small stone pieces are chipped from the base.

An excavated piece with lovely age wear. Tang Dynasty (618-906). The head is 7,5 cm high, with stand it is 18,5 cm high.

Beautifully hand carved antique Chinese lime stone seated buddha. The buddhas is dressed in long flowing robes draping the lower body in soft pleats. The face carved with fine contemplative expression giving feeling of a calm tranquility. Condition is consistent with age...

Very aesthetic Chinese stone Buddha head, massiv and solid with no repairs. Great antique condition. Our family property since 1935. It can be visited in our private home in Germany or in our gallery in Luxembourg on appointment.

It dates from the Ming Dynasty or earlier. Weight appr. 16 kg!!!

Chinese soapstone carving of a scene from a folk tale: the famous Tang Dynasty poet, Meng Haoran (689-740) ventures out into the snow with his young attendant in search of plum blossoms in the snowy hills. In finding this hint of early spring, he hoped to find inspiration for his poems. They see an amazing plum tree starting it's bloom in the cold of late winter...

Nicely carved statue of a fisherman standing on a rock, his face showing a large smile, holding a cane on which two fish are attached in his right hand, and his beard in his left hand. Bi-colored steatite. China, early 20th century. Height: 20 cm. Very tiny chips, otherwise very good condition. Provenance: old French collection. Chinese sandstone carving of Buddha's head, a fragment from a larger statue. This buddha has delicate features and a beautiful expression with high arching brows over half lidded eyes and a slight smile. Hair is a series of continuous sweeping rows over a subtle cranial protuberance. Northern Qi Dynasty (550-577). Size of head: 12 1/2" high. Total size including stand: 18 1/2" high. Stunning Chinese antique carved marble head of Buddha. Massive in size and weight, this beautifully carved fragment is sure to make an impression. Detailed with soft features and down cast eyes. This Buddha conveys classical Chinese features, a rounded face and chin, full lips and graceful eyes nearly closed. The high detail on the snail-shell hair curls attest to its providence. A finely carved Green Jadeite Jade dome lidded Tripod Censer with handles, animal heads and loops as well as a foo lion on the top cover which is removable. Condition: good overall. Size: 13 cm. diameter (5.25"). 19th Century. Nice quality/colour Jade!

19th Century Chinese Natural large carved Rock Crystal Guan Yin figure, Ca. mid 1800's, 9 1/2" high, 3 1/2" wide-widest part, 2 1/4" thick, carved out of one large Rock Crystal, almost clear and good quality, well polished without infusions on her face, hands and feet. Only rough area with some infusions are on the upper head in the back which is not well polished, shows darker brown tiny spots in the stone...

Chinese Ming Dynasty (perhaps older) stone head of a Buddha. Well carved with the face in a pleasant expression with beautiful lips and almond-shaped eyes, flanked by elongated earlobes.

Chinese antique pair of large stone lions (ShiShi) in dramatic traditional poses. The male lion has it's paw on the embroidered ball - when placed outside a buiding, this represents protection of the material structure. The female lion has it's paw on a playful cub - when placed outside a building, this represents protection of the building's occupants.

Antique Chinese pair of stone temple fu dogs. These fierce guardians would have been placed on either side of the entrance to a Buddhist temple in order to ward off evil spirits. One statue has its mouth open and the other mouth is closed, a symbolic trait to represent the in-and-out breathing of life and the sound of “om.” Heavy in weight.

A very large jade disc carved with a hole in the center. Both sides of this central hole are lipped which is very rare in "bi's." Compared with flat bi's, lipped bi's require a lot more carving and are much more difficult to make. The bi is beautiful with its complex colors and patterns. The colors range from cream to greys, ochres, greens and blues.Period: Neolithic ( 3rd millennium B.C.)

An antique Chinese seal chop of soapstone with an image of Hotei. Chinese seals are used with red ink or cinnabar paste (zhusha). A seal in an East is a general name for printing stamps and impressions which are used in lieu of signatures in personal documents, office paperwork, contracts, art, or any item requiring acknowledgement or authorship. The process started in China and soon spread across East Asia.
