A four character calligraphy piece attributed to Liu Bingsen (1937-2005). Liu Bingsen was noted for his contemporary interpretations and styles in Chinese calligraphy. A beautiful and exquisite Chinese painting, signed Tao Ran Yu, with red chop in corner. The painting is a foggy, snowy scene with an icy river flowing down its center. Snowy mountains loom in the distance, with a full moon peering through the fog. Many stalks of bamboo and blades of grass are covered in blueish ice. Flecks of mica have been incorporated to give the picture a shimmery appearance...

A refined Chinese painting of a Taihu scholar rock set in a planter like object on a stand. The work is attributing to the Italian Jesuit Painter, Giuseppe Castiglione or Lan Shining in Chinese (1688-1766). Shows age but most likely 20th century. Size: Length 20.75" Width 15.78"

Antique Chinese framed painting of the mythological figure Zhong Kui, commander of 80,000 demons, vanquisher of evil spirits, and guardian of households. He appears to be controlling an unhappy looking green demon with a turtle shell, sometimes called Shui Gui. Two small bats fly just next to the calligraphy on the lefthand side, with red chop by the artist.

Chinese landscape painting with two literati figures riding a boat and enjoying the scenery. The work is titled: Guan Lushan, or View Mt. Lu. The inscription reads: Painted around late spring of 1918 following the style of Wen Hengshan. Signed: Longcheng Jushi, Huang Shanshou. Seal also reads the artist's name. Painting on woven paper. An unusual and surprising technique. The paper is cut out then this woven paper is painted. However there is a subtlety because in some places only the vertical strips are painted and not the horizontal ones which shows us colored squares alternating with unpainted squares which gives a blurred effect anticipating our "pixels" and which, I think, gave the illusion of a woven fabric...
