Antique Chinese bronze tripod censer, with lions' heads for handles and beautiful hand-scribed calligraphy on its front over a textured ground. The four characters on the bronze read "to keep and appreciate forever". The signature is dated the ninth year of Guangxu (1884). Some family members dedicated this to their deceased ancestor's 70th birthday. The first two characters are the name of an island in a fairy tale, inhabited by immortals. The last two characters mean "love spring"...

A small bronze mirror of bulls eye form, 69mm in diameter 7.5mm in height with a rounded boss surrounded by a thin raised concentric ring to the centre with a raised edge and partial concave profile to the rim. The mirror is in very good condition, please see photos. Shipping within the UK is included in the sterling price and worldwide tracked shipping in the US dollar price.

The U-shaped body with broad flaring mouth supported on three tall splayed legs, cast around the body with a key-fret band and to the underside of the spout with a nine character Mark. A very rare large antique TIBETAN SWORD with silver, iron and shagreen skin on the sheath. Intricately and beautifully decorated with a Taotie Mask, Deer, Tigers, a Phoenix and a Dragon on one side, while the other has detailed scrolling, foliage and a copper buckle for attaching. The elephant has a Buddhistic caparisoned dress with pearl harness, tassels, and scrolling patterned blanket. On its back is a removable bulbous vase form with flared neck (tianquiping) Incised with arctic motif. The elephants almond shaped eyes, diminutive tusk, pinched ears, with trunk swayed inward. The bronze is lost wax cast method...

Decorated with stylized mythical beasts against a geometrical background. Diameter 9,4 cm. Excellent condition with good age wear and patina. Comes with a custom made stand.
