A pair of Chinese blue and white porcelain cups. Nicely painted decoration of three flower arrangements on each cup - the bouquets respectively centering a peony, a chrysanthemum and a camellia bloom (appearing to represent blooms from different seasons.) The cobalt blue has a deep, clean quality. Late 19th to early 20th century. Condition is good - one cup with small flake inside the foot rim (illustrated.) Pair Bleu de Hue porcelain bowls. Late 19th century Chinese kiln production (most from Jingdezhen) for the Vietnamese market. Blue and white decoration of ducks in water among lotus. If you look at the photographs closely, you will barely discern a very soft, pale blue wash for the water in the decoration...

Description:

A pair of Jianyang hare-furs tea bowls was well mold in fine shape.
In evert mouth rim, the bowls were stand by circular foot rings.
Characteristic abrasion was found at the foot ring where the body clay was covered with burial adhesives.
Incursions were also found on the mouth rim.
They were in lovely sizes- very hard to find on the market, but ideally for tea ceremony.

Sung Dynasty Celadon bowl with foliated edge rim and incised floral pattern at center and scrolling design in the cavetto and rim. Fine Sung dynasty celadon deep dish or bowl in olive brown glaze. Glaze is silky yet some wear to bottom of the bowl as would be expected. Additionally there is wear to the base rim. In good overall condition. Diameter: 8.50 inches; height: 2 inches.

We offer today a wonderful Chinese Longquan Celadon Porcelain Guanyin (Kwan Yin) dating from the Ming Dynasty. This Guan Yin has been acquired from the world famous collector of Chinese ceramics, Dr. Nearing and his Dragon's Lair Collection some years ago.

The Buddha is sitting in the double lotus position. The right hand is in the Karana mudra position, which expels negative energy or wards off evil.

It is about 10 1/4 inches tall.

It weighs about 1.949 kg...
