Interesting stem cup, with well potted flared sides raised on a tall conical stem foot, richly applied inside and out with a dark brown glaze. The bottom of the foot are glazed white with a six character Wanli imperial mark. measurement: Height 9.4 cm = 3.7 in Diameter 11.1 cm = 4.4 in. Condition: Ship on the foot ring. Manufacturing glaze defect in the center of the cup.

A beautifully modeled white ware spouted ewer complete with original top. Elegant and intact, this piece measures 9-1/2" in height, with the top in place. The color is difficult to capture accurately, as there is the faintest hint of pale celadon color in the glaze. No repairs or restoration, no flaking of the glaze. A beautiful example of this early ware.

This piece was made at the kiln in Henan pottery area. It is very popular to be called as "Henan tenmoku" which has black glaze with patterns of rusty glaze. The pattern tends to peel off because of overglaze, however this piece has patten clearly remained. From our Shipwreck Porcelain Collection, a fine and large blue and white Ca Mau Shipwreck dish ex-Sotheby's, Yongzheng Period 1723-1735, datable more specifically to circa 1725. The scene depicts Europeans (most likely Dutch traders) on what was once mistakenly thought to be Deshima Island in Nagasaki Harbor Japan, but which recent scholarship now concludes is either a scene of Holland in the Netherlands, or Gothenborg in Sweden...

An important and rare KANGXI Period Blue & White KLAPMUTS Porcelain Bowl potted with deep rounded sides rising to an everted rim. The exterior depicts a delightful landscape scene with children and maidens possibly at the "Yuan Xiao" Lantern Festival. The interior of the bowl has a scene with a playful boy throwing a good luck fire cracker in the center and is decorated with a Lingzhi flared border design.
