Zentner Collection
SOLD Very beautiful and detailed antique figure of Uga Benzaiten, she is carved of wood and painted with colored and gilt lacquer, she has eight arms each holding a different Buddhist objects, her elaborate crown is made of metal and includes glass beads which hang down and a torii gate which stands at the top, one of the details specific to Uga Benzaiten is the coiled snake that sits on top of her head with the head of a man, Edo Period.

SOLD. Seated Bosatsu (Skt. Bodhisattva) sculpted in relief from a fine-grained igneous stone, the hands forming the gassho adoration mudra and supporting a long-stemmed lotus blossom. Mid- to late-Edo Period ca. 1775. Very minor old loss. Patchy-white lichen accumulation.
Height: 63 cm A charming seated Bosatsu, boldly executed and fairly massively scaled. The white patches are dried lichen, not repairs. The lotus-form dais shown in the photographs is not included.

SOLD to Switzerland, January 2009 售往瑞士 - 2009年1月 A good early 18th Century syle meiping form vase decorated with prunus blossom against a "cracked ice" ground. On the base is the six character reign mark of the Kangxi emperor (1662 - 1722) but this item was made later - during the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875 - 1908). Condition - excellent. No damages and no restoration. 7.3 inches (18.5cm) high.

SOLD. Stone depiction of a standing Jizo Bosatsu, a shakujo (crozier) held in the right hand and a hoju (sacred jewel) in the left. Clearly dated to the second year of the Kyoho Era (1718), mid-Edo Period. Old loss, most notably to the left-hand perimeter. Light lichen accumulation.
Height: 50 cm A thoroughly classic example of mid-Edo professional work, sculpted in bold relief from andesite, a particularly hard, heavy igneous stone.

An old stone box was beautifully carved on the cover with a five-clawed swirling Dragon and with cloud pattern at the basin. By a well rendered craftsmanship, the covered box was in a magnificent mood by its astonishing image. Kept in perfect condition and darken patina, there’re only minor defects found at the whiskeys and at one of the corners of the cover. Date: Qing Dynasty(18th/19th Century), Dimensions: 9.2cm x 9cm x 8.5cm.
