This is struck on one side with the image of a “sankha” (conch) circled by dots, similar pieces have been found in Kyaito region of Myanmar, however this one was excavated in Suphan Buri which would be consistent with the early Mon/Dvaravati period in Thailand. Collection of six tin and lead alloy coins from the Mon kingdom of Pegu, Burma now (Bago, Myanmar) circa 1500CE. There are 6 pieces all in excellent condition. Two have Chinthe images (Burmese mythical lions), two are peacocks, one has a Shankha (one of the eight auspicious symbols of Buddhism) and one with what looks to be a spider. The Shankha is very rare, I cannot find a published reference to this coin from this era, although the earlier Pyu culture had these on their silver coins...

A very unusual pair of pillow ends, both made of three panels. The central panels with scenes of deities or mythological figures in a garden, the openwork side panels with floral decorations and bats, symbolizing happiness, longevity and prosperity. These pillow ends were stitched to an embroidered pillow meant to decorate the wedding bed. This was common practice among the rich Chinese in Singapore and Malaysia. Date: early 20th century. Dimensions: 30x8,5 cm. Weight 128 g.

Antique Thai cast bronze figure of Garuda crouched on his haunches, with wings open wide. Garuda is the faithful friend and vahana (vehicle) of Vishnu. He is depicted here in anthropomorphic form, with human body but with wings, beak and and legs of an eagle-like sun bird. Garuda is the personification of courage and the enemy of naga, the serpent.

A cast brass gong mounted in a Japanese style wooden frame. The two parts were joined together in Singapore where the stand was constructed out of Vietnamese wuali wood. The stand measures about 27 1/2" wide x 23 1/2" tall x 11" deep and dates to the 1980s. The bell measures about 13" in diameter x 5" deep and dates to the 19th Century or earlier. The bell has a marking of "4-P" painted inside, and the gong comes with a matching quality striker...
