SOLD. A standing Jizo Bosatsu placed within a recessed alcove beneath an overarching pediment-style mandorla, sculpted in relief from a high-quality granite. Early-Edo Period ca. 1650, possibly earlier. Old loss, most notably to the lower-left edge, and softening of the lines and contours of the figure. Good lichen accumulation.

Daikokuten: Ebisu: Paired sets of Daikokuten and Ebisu in stone are uncommon; this set is uncommonly charming. Outstanding.

SOLD. Standing Jizo Bosatsu in wood, yosegi-zukuri (joined-block wood construction), sculpted eyes, and finished in lacquer and gilt. Late-Muromachi/Momoyama Period ca. 1550. Loss of both hands and minor points of old wood loss, as well as heavy black-soot patination overall.
Height of Jizo figure only: 29.5 cm An exquisitely sculpted, desirably patinated Jizo Bosatsu. The gilt-wood dais, not original to the Jizo piece, is included.
