Delicate free-form feathered gold lattice pattern decorating its back with a persimmon colored collar around its neck. Kato Shuntai (1802-1877) Japanese Antique Seto Ware bowl. The seal of the potter is stamped on the bottom.

Kato Shuntai is a notable potter from Seto area, Aichi prefecture who lived in the late Edo period.
He followed his father profession as a ceramist at the age of 15 and soon he received a name Shuntai from Tokugawa, the 11th Daimyo of modern Nagoya.

A small Chinese brass handwarmer with pierced lid and carrying handle. The lid has many vent holes, some of which are shaped like stars. and these organize the round holes into what looks like many plum blossoms. The warmer measures 3 1/4' high (5 1/2" high with handle up) x 5" in diameter, and dates to the late 19th Century.
