Beautiful and unusual altar table with pink marble top, late 19th early 20th century. It is made of rosewood and beautifully carved with peony and iris flowers and dragons. A 17th – 18th century Neko-tora Tiger by Nagasaki school artist Watanabe Shuseki performed with ink and color on paper in yellow bronze silk border with bone rollers. Chinese black silk embroidered panel with a very finely rendered butterfly over a peony. The small bright orange embroidery is the forbidden stitch. A bronze Shakyamuni buddha was kept in very good condition.
Had been gilt on the surface but just faded, there are only traces left in the pleats.
It was rarely found that the under cover at the bottom was original when tickling sound was heard inside the hollow base.
It hinted that the original devotion items were still kept within after 600 years.

Attractive blue and black flambe glaze ceramic vase from the Qing Dynasty, 19th century. It measures 7" tall, mouth opening 2.5" wide.

Republic period, late 19th century, phoenix with yellow, pink, and green feathers. The feathers are beautifully detailed. The bird stands on one foot with the other raised close to it's body atop a rock formation. It measures 17" tall. Overall good condition with some loses.
