Sold, Thank you! white lines defining this tea bowl defy the superlative rendition of a bird snapping up an insect from a hibiscus by Ogata Gekko within. The bowl is 4-1/2 inches (11.5 cm) diameter, 3 inches (7.5 cm) tall and in fine condition. It comes wrapped in a silk bag and enclosed in a superb kiri-wood box.

Sold in our Liverpool shop - May 2019 / 利物浦店内售出 - 2019年5月 A rare thinly potted and extremely well painted deep dish with exceptionally fine porcelain body. The base carries the six character reign mark of the Jiajing emperor (1522-1566) enclosed within a double circle but this item was probably made later, in the 16th/17th Century, during the reign of the Wanli emperor (1573-1619). Condition: there is production glaze loss (fritting) to the rim but no cracks or damages and no restoration. 15cm (6 inches) diameter; 3.2cm (1.25inches) high.

The top of one is carved with a dragon and phoenix with a ball of fire between them floating in clouds. Sold to China - May 2013 售至中国 - 2013 年5月 An archaic style vase with crackle-glaze and simulated metal mounts. On the base is the apocryphal mark of the 15th Century (Ming) Chenghua emperor but this item was made much later , in the 19th Century, probably during the reign of the Tongzhi emperor (1862-1874) when this style was first introduced. Condition - excellent no damage and no restoration. 30cm (11.75 inches) high. Weight - 1.1kg (2lb8oz).
