A pair undone antique Chinese sleeve bands, bordered with a black band and green cotton lining. The wine-red silk ground finely embroidered in Pekinese stitch, some detalis in satin stitch and couched metal threads, showing figures, maybe immortals in a landscape. Dimension: c. 111 cm x 37.5 cm. Condition: fine, only few stains.

Wonderful distorted shoe shaped (kutsugata) tea bowl made of light, fine, unrefined Mino clay. Shape and style make it appear contemporary with the late Oribe bowls. The expertly thrown body is covered with the typical black oniita engobe inside and outside - with the exception of the bottom - over which a white, feldspatic Shino glaze has been poured.

A young Maiko parts the curtains of an Okiya Tea-house entrance, perhaps on her way to training, or to begin a night of traditional entertainment through song and dance. Pigment and ink on silk in a fine brocade border with lacquered red wooden rollers. It is 25 x 78 inches (63.5 x 198 cm). There is some loss to the gofun in the center where it was obviously folded once before being mounted in its current state.

Chogappo made of fragments of asa (choma,ramie or hemp) whose wefts and warps are hand-plied. A cloud of terracotta clay floats over rays of white emanating down through the gray body of this object by Kawasaki Chitaru enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Light Cloud. The complete lack of glaze accentuates the rich color of the clay body, tiny “tombo-no-me” (dragonfly eyes) salting the surface. It is 20 x 12.5 x 23 cm (8 x 5 x 9 inches ) and in excellent condition, with the artist name and date engraved on the side.

Circa 1850, rare Chinese Rose Mandarin serving dish in the shape of a pomegranate. In excellent antique condition with very little surface wear, it measures 6 inches x 5 inches.

A very rare figure of a Tang lady seated on a barrel stool in a long robe and large hairdo gently holding a dog. Original Tang figures look beautiful at all angles. Made of a fine red colored clay, it was originally painted but the slip and color have worn away revealing only the clay underneath.
