Large Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220) Yue ware hu form stoneware vase with two moulded and incised loop handles on the shoulder. Measures about 11 1/2" high x 8" diameter. Above the waist, the vase is decorated with two sets of incised lines running around the circumference. A mottled olive green glaze, consisting of green, brown and cream pigments, accents the upper section of the vase and the interior of the mouth. A Tibetan bronze flaying knife or chopper with a curved steel blade used in rituals by Buddhist Vajrayana priests. The flayer was a symbolic instrument and never used to really chop or flay people. Hence, the blade is dull. The blade has oxidized on both sides and there is some verdigris inside the top of the handle. Measures 6.75 inches x 7" high. Dates 1800's.

An interesting pair of Japanese Arita saucer form dishes decorated in a transitional style incorporating elements of the Kakiemon style, notably the asymmetric elements within the reserves to the outer rim of the dish, with Katamono style motifs dating to the late 17th century or early 18th century made for the domestic market. Kappa (cape) made of cotton kasuri on both sides which are hand-spun and natural indigo dyed. It is called "maru-gappa" or "hiki-mawashi" in old days. It was worn on the occasion of travel over kimono. It has washi (Japanese handmade paper) between two cotton cloth which is washed out and soft. The word "kappa" came from Portuguese "capa". A pair of Chinese porcelain bowls decorated with iron-red enamel depicting two dragons chasing a fire ball. Four characters studio mark "Fu You Tang Zhi" inside the foot rims. 19th century. Antique Korean single section bedside chest, with book matched front panels of hardwood burl. Four drawers line the top of the chest with brass handles in motifs of butterflies. The front of the chest features a pair of doors with a large brass central plate and brass butterfly hinges.

A rare small solid bronze figure of a lion, of asymmetric form and with with unusual chased and punched surface decoration. It is attached with a single rivet to a contemporary base and is movable by about 30 degrees. This item either made in China during the Ming dynasty (1368 - 1644) or possibly much earlier.
