An antique Japanese Ko Tansu (personal storage chest) made of Kirinoki (Paulownia) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. All original hand made iron fittings including the Warabite handles and finish. The front has a natural Kirinoki wood finish while the case was finished in a wiped Urushi lacquer technique. Constructed using straight dovetail joinery and hardened wooden nails.

An antique Japanese Cha Tansu made from solid Keyaki (Zelkova) & Keyaki Burl woods with a Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood drawer back. Removable trick shelves behind the sliding side by side doors. Original bronze fittings and a lucky Gourd carved drawer handle out of Kakinoki (Persimmon) wood with the same wood used for the sliding door handles. Decorative open fan shaped side windows that function both as entrance for light on the shelves and handles for carrying this chest about.

A rare bronze (copper tin alloy) incense tool holder, very finely cast in archaised Song Dynasty style. The square form neck is decorated alternately with Lingzhi fungus and stylized Acanthus leaves. Both are traditionally associated with resilience, good health and long life.

This item was made for the Chinese Scholar's Table in the 17th Century in the "Transitional Period" during the late Ming or early Qing Dynasties.

Pair Japanese Cedar Wood Miso Merchant's Storage Tubs, or Barrels, Ca. 1940, 14 1/2" high include cover, 14" diameter top rim, heavy twisted Bamboo ropes wrapped around, lacquered chestnut color outside, Kanji writings for date and shop name on bottom for both barrels, inside is unfinished and shows beautiful aged old wood grains. The condition is good, no damages.

Japanese limited edition sosaku hanga “kappa-ban” (stencil print) titled “Samurai with an Umbrella” by Yoshitoshi Mori (1898-1992). The print is pencil-signed with the artist's red seal, dated ’82, and numbered 34/50. The bottom right corner has a small "80" in pencil. Paper size: 20 1/4" x 13 1/2." Very good, clean overall condition. A tiny pencil notation with a prior owner's name "Hansen" is on the back bottom edge.
