Sold to China - May 2013 售至中国 - 2013 年5月 A well modelled and painted glazed and "biscuit" figure of Budai made in China during the Republic period (1912-1949). On the base is the mark: Man Yi Sheng Zao - "Made by Man Yi Sheng". This item was brought to the UK by a Liverpool seaman during either the 1930s or 1940s. Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration. 18cm (7inches) high; 18cm (7inches) wide.

Sold in our Liverpool shop - July 2018 / 利物浦店内售出 - 2018年7月 An "ogee" shaped porcelain bowl decorated with polychrome 'famille rose' enamels depicting two pheasants amongst flowering peony and pomegranate branches and below a band of alternating lotus flowers and the eight Buddhist emblems, the Bajixiang. The seal mark to the base reads "Zhong Hua Min Guo" (Republic of China), dating it to the period 1911-1949.
Condition: there are rim frits / chips and there is a light 1cm hairline to the rim ; no further damages and no restoration.

This is a spectacular Famille Noire Glazed Molded Porcelain Snuff Bottle of Bulbous Pear form, with a green ruyi band decorated straight neck, a white glazed mouth, and a concave recessed oval footing. Sold, thank you! A vibrant double vase covered in signature naïve designs by Yamashita Moe enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Morinoyoru (Night in the forest). It is 12 x 24.5 x 27 cm (5 x 10 x 11 inches) and is in excellent condition. Her work is filled with joie de vie, and one cannot escape a smile when viewing it.
