Seto pottery, dated as early as the 13th century, produced around Seto city in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. It is also considered as one of the Six Ancient Kilns of Japan. Size 5.8cm. high; 21.4cm. diameter; 835g weight. Condition Good considering the age. There small old repairs of the rim, no cracks.

A small Imari porcelain teapot of rectangular form with an arch-shaped handle ending in a blossom. Beautifully decorated with a hare and a dragon in a cartouche between flowery motifs in iron red, green, yellow and gold, the top with auspicious longevity characters in underglaze blue. The flat base without glaze. Condition: fine, only the knob of the lid with a tiny loss. Dimension: c. 14.6 cm high, 12.5 cm long.

A modern interpretation of the six sided shuki popular in ki-seto from the Momoyama period, this in white Raku by Hashimoto Tomonari enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Shiro Raku Guinomi. The fire blackened (originally white) clay sets off the thick white glazze like winter snow receding from garden stones. It is 6 cm (2-3/8 inches) across, the same height and in excellent condition, directly from the artist this year.
