The size of vase: 8 5/8" High x 3 1/8" Dia top x 3 5/16" Dia bottom. This Shigaraki Flower vase is made by master ceramist Kusube Yaichi ( 1897-1984). It has very unusual and interesting Keshiki by Ash covered finish. It came with Kiriwood Tomobako. The top cover has Japanese writing, "Keijyu" (Celebrating long life, translation). A modern, openwork bamboo flower basket, Hanakago, by Chikuhosai, made with the hexagonal plating technique called “kikko sugashi ami” using very thin strips of madake bamboo. Made in an elongated gourd-shape with a tall handle. Signed on the bottom “ CHIKUHOSAI ZO “ (made by Chikuhosai). It comes with the original, lacquered bamboo insert for flowers. From 1960-70’s. Measurement: H. 53,5 cm Ø 16 cm.

An antique Japanese Sendai Bo Tansu (Kimono chest) made of Keyaki (Zelkova) and Sugi (Cryptomeria) woods. All original hand forged iron hardware and lacquered finish. Main drawer lockplate features Chrysanthemums with the lock bar featuring Pine trees and the bottom lock-late depicting a Paulownia leaf. 2 small drawers reside behind the hinged security door.

Rare and unusual Iban pottery pattern paddle carved from durable Iron Wood (Belian wood), circa 19th century. Tatsuzo Shimaoka (1919-2007) Square Bottle Vase with iconic Aka-e Designs

With tall rectangular sides, decorated with impressed rope patterns inlaid in slip and with Aka-e designs.

This vivid Mino Iga tea bowl is made by renowned Japanese ceramist Yaemon Kato (b.1942)
The mark of the potter is carved near the foot ring.
