Sold, Thank you. Kake-fukusa which is used to cover a gift on the occasion of auspicious events. It is made of tapestry weave silk with auspicious omen motifs, pine tree, plum tree with bloom and bamboo. Generally, in good condition except for a rift of the black yarn in the pine tree circle and some stains in the blue ground, and also three holes in the red silk lining in the back. Fine Chinese Han Dynasty Green & Yellow Glazed Small Pottery Jar
This attractive pottery jar was made during the Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 220). It is in the form known as a hu and is fairly "heavily-potted". It is made from quite high-fired reddish pottery. The entire outer surface, including the flat base, has been coated in a streaky green glaze. The top is created in the same manner pierced with three holes, and it has an insert of the same alloy to keep heat away from the softly gleaming body. Lovely hand silk embroidered alter “skirt” with the Eight Chinese Immortals and three double happiness roundels at the top. I recently acquired this with a group of other vintage textiles; this is in perfect condition with a lovely palate of colors. Late 20th century, this would have been hung in in front of a temple altar table’s legs. H: 100cm/40in x W: 94cm/37in. Appears never to have been used.

Very rare small celadon Yueyao lugged jar from a Zhejiang Kiln, circa Five Dynasties/Early Northern Song. This type of ceramic was a precursor to Longquan ware. There is a firing crack and some fritting (caused by pockets of air trapped beneath the glaze during firing) on one side- noted in enlargements. D: 9cm/3.5in and H: 6cm/24in.

sold, thank you Grapes cluster on the vine under drying leaves on this painting by Tenryu-dojin performed with ink on paper in a light cloth mounting with pale blue piping and wood rollers. Painted when the artist was 77 years old (1794 by the Japanese count). The scroll is 42.5 x 162.5 cm (16-3/4 x 64 inches) and has been remounted sometime in teh 20th century, in a style reflecting the literati mounting style popular from the later Edo period.
