Chinese Scholar’s two-tier solid rosewood stand with carved boxwood edges. Produced in the 1950s, this is actually a copy of a 17th - early 18th century style that was made of zitan and edged in boxwood. A strong stand that will hold your heaviest object, the pieces were machine made with rough carvings, hand assembled (pegged and glued), and then hand finished and polished. In excellent condition, the stand measures 12” long x 7.25" wide x 4” high.

A beautiful small flat serving dish on raised turned foot by Murakoshi Takuma the pebble studded clay covered in emerald green ash glaze and enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Hai-yu Hira-maru Ita-zara. Murakoshi Takuma is a jolly fellow, and loves to be in his cups. Therefore, he is quite good at making a cup which fits comfortably in a one’s hand, a cup you would not like to put down. This is a perfect example of that, a medium sized guinomi, smooth inside but wildly undulating out, covered in his signature Shunju glaze, a combination of Ash, Feldspar and Iron with occasional visions of untouched raw Shigaraki clay. Tsuto made of rice straw which is used for containing ceramic plates. It has a small wooden tag "12 plates". In old age, there was no plastic cushioning material so that rice straw was used much for it and for other crafts. So rare and beautiful: Arita Tenmoku Tea Bowl by greatest Living National Treasure Inoue Manji. Most of his work is made of white porcelain, and only very few have the wonderful Tenmoku glaze. We are very proud to present one of his rare masterpieces. It comes with the originally signed and sealed wooden box, a sealed cloth and a profile of him. He named the tea bowl "Tenmoku Macchawan".
