Sold, Thank you! A large mizusashi extolling thevirtues of True Momoyama Bizen by Abe Anjin enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The iron like quality of the work comes from the temperature at which Anjin fires, 200 degrees higher than most Bizen potters. Scars and interconnecting symbols harken back to the days of group firing and kiln marks. The piece is 7-1/2 inches (19 cm) diameter, 7 inches (18 cm) tall and in excellent condition. Very rare!

Sold to China - May 2013 售至中国 - 2013 年5月 A late 18th or early 19th Century Famille Rose enamelled jar made in China, probably for export, during the reign of the Jiaqing emperor. For comparison (of enamels) we have pictured two export Lion Joss Stick Holders (usually dated either late Qianlong or Jiaqing, circa 1800) in our last enlargement. Condition - very good - there are no damages and there has been no restoration. 16cm (6.3inches) high. Weight - 900gms (approx 2lb).

Sold Rare large pair of beautiful original Japanese bronze temple lanterns with gilt highlights. A Sasarindo crest on the section where the light would be placed; the Sasarindo is the bamboo leaves and gentian flowers crest of the Minamoto clan.
The doors are fully functional. Each lantern is made of 6 individual cast bronze sections. A pearl in a flame sits on top of each lantern. Two very intricate dragons wrap around the lanterns. There are abundant motifs of dragons, flames and clouds. The... A good cloisonne vase depicting Mt. Fuji in clouds using 'musen' (wireless) technique with pleasing affect. The foreground with pagoda in autumnal landscape against mountain and river landscape - the mountains again using wireless technique to suggest fading into the distance, and the river also using 'musen' to suggest the flowing of water. The back of the vase continues the light blue mottled sky. Silver plated rims. Not signed, so we stop short at saying it is Ando school. Excellent condition...

Sold through our Liverpool shop - February 2013 利物浦店内售出 - 2013年2月 A Cloisonne Enamel vase depicting two Manchurian Cranes, made in Japan for export during the Meiji period (1868-1911). Condition - there is an under rim chip and one to the body (please view enlargements 8 & 9); there are very minor losses to the enamel and there are stress cracks. Originally, this was the largest of a set of 3 graduated matching silver necklaces. They were worn as a set for festival by the Miao Chinese Ethnic Minority women. The necklace was skillfully hand-formed from a sheet of silver into a curving tapered tube with a reposse pattern of 2 dragons chasing pearl. It spans 10.5 inches across.
