A rare 18th/19th Century carved agate snuff bottle with, possibly later, silver and rose quartz stopper. On the stopper is inscribed the Shanghai silversmiths "Wen Yuan" who are recorded as having traded from the Jiaqing (1796-1820) reign through until the Republic period (1912- 1949). Condition - excellent - there is a shallow chip on top, next to the mouth (please view enlargement 11) no further damages and no restoration. 5cm (2inches) high; 4.8cm (1.9 inches) wide.

Japanese narrow hanging scroll done in literati style with a mountainous retreat in autumn season, 3 red seals and signed by the artist, Senda Hanko. Meiji Period. This is a beautiful Japanese Imari bowl. It is not only rare to see a bowl of this size but the enameled crane design is also rare. Overall the bowl is in outstanding condition. It measures 12 1/4 across and 4 3/4 tall.

Japanese Satsuma vase with various scenes from different periods in Japanese history and one view with Chinese scholars or sages. The views are framed with a motif of flowers and fans. Antique Japanese hirado ware white vase with base. The vase is a beautiful white color. The simple shape is accented with dragon shaped handles on either side. The work is done by the kiln of Kanzan Denshichi (1821-1890). Kanzan was trained in Koto ware in Shiga by the order of Ii Naosuke. This is a fine early Japanese Satsuma Koro done in the early or Gosu style. The stained decorative lid appears to be bronze. In person it is more detailed and attractive than the images show. Of note on the inside rim there is a fired factory flaw that is shown in the last image. Condition is excellent it stands 4 inches tall.
