Balinese antique pair of Dwarapala temple guardians. Carved of stone, these figures once guarded a temple entrance, a warning to humans and negative energies not to pass. Their ferocious appearance is a warning that only those with good intentions will be ushered through and guided to ascend a higher path.

A most attractive Genuine Antique Enamelled BENCHARONG-BENJARONG BOWL, made in China by special order from the Court and Nobility of Siam, 19th Century. BENCHARONG signifies 5 colors. This superb bowl has a bronze rim band. Good condition considering the age, one small inconsequential hairline. Size: 4 1/2" (11 cm.)

This model is a faithful representation of the American privateer ship built in New York at the beginning of the 19th century. The model is of exceptional quality. It may be that it was built from a kit from the 70s but the multitude of excellent details leads me to believe that it is a unique work created from scratch by a virtuoso model maker. Although we know of many models of the "Prince of Neuchatel", none equals this one...

This stoneware bowl was made at the Sawankhalok kilns around the 14th - 15th century. It is quite "heavily-potted" and coated in a finely-crackled translucent celadon glaze. The inner surface has been decorated with incised parallel bands and vertical lines. The unglazed lower part of the underside has fired to a reddish-brown.

This stoneware bowl was made at the Sawankhalok kilns around the 14th - 15th century. It is quite "heavily-potted" and coated in a finely-crackled translucent olive-green celadon glaze. The inner surface has been elaborately decorated with incised parallel bands and vertical lines, with surface decoration also to the flared rim.. The base remains unglazed revealing the pale grey stoneware body...

This round box was made during the 13th - 15th century at the Sawankhalok kilns. Both cover and box have been decorated with an incised scrolling floral pattern, the design accentuated with the use of two different coloured glazes. The inner surface and base remain unglazed. Very unusually, to the base are incised lines: apart from the straight lines it appears there may be a picture incised although we cannot make out what it is...

This covered stoneware box was made during the 13th - 15th centuries at the Sawankhalok kilns. It is elaborately decorated in underglaze blue with a ring of yellowish-brown glaze around the moulded top of the cover that is in the form of picked fruit. Diameter 9.75 cm, height 8 cm. There are a couple of fine hairline cracks to the edge of the cover and minor chips to the edge of the box...
