A serene, excavated Bronze Shan State Buddha seated and subduing Mara position. This very old item was excavated from a Stupa and has remnants of soil as well as a naturally formed patina. Very good condition. Size 11.5 cm x 8.5 cm (4.5" x 3.5").

Tibetan repousse copper polychrome mask of Yamataka , a horned yak headed deity wearing a crown of three skulls on its head. Gold gilt ground and painted pigment accentuate the expression of the Yamataka mask.

Yamataka is a violent aspect of the Bodhisattva Manjushri, who assumes this form to vanquish Yama, the god of death. By defeating Yama, the cycle of rebirth (samsara) that prevents enlightenment is broken...

Large belt buckle with a delicate foliage and geometric decoration. Bronze, with partly encrusted patina. Burma, 18th century, maybe earlier. Length: 6,2 cm. Height: 5,3 cm. Very good condition.

Antique Tibetan gilt bronze Tara diety, seated with left hand raised and thumb and forefinger touching and right hand resting on knee. Eye drawn on forehead and palms of both hands. Dressed in royal garb. Beautiful serene expression. Well worn, remnants of blue pigment on hair.

An antique bronze rain drum with natural patina from the F Knoll Collection. Country of origination is Laos. Top features a bas relief in the concentric circles with families of stacking frogs on each of four positions. Elephant figurals shown marching up to each handle. The center displays a 12 pointed sun.

Age old restoration. Some loss to one frog consistent with its age...

Dramatic Chinese Kangxi Period blue and white vase with a cylindrical body narrowing to a straight neck and a flanged lip, ribbon designs on the neck, galloping Manchu Warriors carrying battle banners, base with a circle mark, all decoration in underglaze blue with three subtle hues.

Ayutthaya period small gilded bronze Buddha on throne. Cast in two parts. H. 15 cm. Condition: expected age wear, very good patina, minor damage to the footrim of the throne.

Antique bronze hand of Buddha on wooden stand. Hand displays the Abhyaya Mudra, the have-no-fear gesture representing peace, benevolence, and reassurance. Beautiful long tapered fingers. Patina consistent with age.

Burmese Shan style Buddha, the slender figure with a triangular face and broad forehead, arching eyebrows, elongated ears, and small hair curls covering a low ushnisha that is surmounted by a bud-shaped finial. The red lacquered wood figure with gilt highlights is seated on a waisted lotus throne plinth with relief deer carvings in bhurmisparsa mudra (“calling the earth to witness”). A plain flap of clothing is over the left shoulder. Separate wood stand. 14" high. 18th to 19th century...

A genuine Shan State Bronze Buddha, 17/18th Century, subduing Mara and sitting on a fine stepped throne. Front base has engraved Shan script. The Buddha is filled and heavy, not hollow. It also has an old original dark patina with traces of gilt and very few remnants of cinnabar paint. Size: Height 20.5 cm x 13 cm (8.25" x 5.25" inches). Good condition overall.
