Lovely bronze Buddha in the naïve style that is so typical for Laos. It's heavily cast. The Buddha in Bhumisparsa Mudra, seated on a lotus throne. H. 26 cm. Very nice age wear and good patina. There is a minor hole in the front, this is a casting flaw.

A very good sized sculpture of Pedanda, a Brahman priest of the highest caste. This is a traditional sculpture, not a piece for tourists. It's made of hard wood, very intricately carved and has a subtle polychrome. H. 51 cm. Condition: expected age wear and a few age cracks. Please refer to the detailed pictures. A similar figure is in the collection of the 'Tropenmuseum' in Amsterdam. Provenance: Belgian private collection.

Antique Tibetan silver statue of Padmasambhava, or Guru Rinpoche, an 8th century Buddhist master in India. He is said to have lead the first Nyingma traditionalist teachings in Tibet, the oldest of the four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism. He sits on a lotus throne, holding a vajra in his right hand and, in the other, a kapala (skull cup) filled with the elixir of life, the vase of longevity, topped with a small tree to grant wishes...

Antique Tibetan gilt bronze figure of the Buddhist deity Kubera, lord of wealth, protector of the physical world. He lounges with piles of gold around him. In one hand he holds a mongoose, who is said to spit jewels. The mongoose shows rule over the Naga (malevolent snake people and guardians to vast treasure). Kubera is shown seated on his vehicle, a large beast atop a lotus pod throne.

Antique Tibetan gilt bronze Dakini, with traces of silver, inlay of coral and turquoise. In her hands are a raised kappala (or skull cup) filled with the elixir of life, and a curved blade. She is dancing on top of corpses to show her rule over ignorance and ego. Her lotus pedestal is made of gilt copper.

The Dakini are wrathful female deities often shown nude with long, flowing hair and glowering expression...

Very nice smooth Patina, some inconsequential wear, especially to individual hair curls, but excellent overall condition as shown.
