Rare antique Indonesian textile that is a jataka of tales of Rama with forty-nine painted scenes with script on top of scenes, wondrous scenes of monstrous sea creatures and key scenes of life of Rama are depicted in charming traditionally painted scenes outlined in wood-like columns with black with blues, reds, khaki greens, on beige background. Made of fine cotton on stretched frame.

A rare Pyu carved green glass pendant with a figure of a man on the front and some writing on the back. Next to the glass pendant there are two small stone carved elephants. The rest of the necklace is made up of ancient gold and an assortment of gold and agate beads of the same period. Age: 100 - 500 AD. Size: 44cm end to end. Glass bead: H; 4.5cm W: 2cm.

Antique amitung (door board) for a dwelling or ceremonial house of the Telefolmin people who live in the southern portion of Sandaun (West Sepik) Province of Papua New Guinea. A rare stucco sculpture which originally had three heads on this Deity, two are remaining and part of a third one remains. This type of Diety had it's influence from the Gandhara also was a jewel of Buddhist civilization. Scholars of Gandhara traveled east to India and China and were influential in the development of early Mahayana Buddhism. Size with stand. H. 23.3cm. W. 15 cm.

Architectural element which was probably the top part of a household altar. This element --- which represents a protecting ancestor head surmounted by a symbolic coiffe --- is resting on a squarish base. The piece is made of wood with a nice age patina. A very rare ancient necklace made up of ten silver medallions (coins) from Southeast Asia dating back to over 2,000 years. The necklace can be separated to make two necklaces five silver medallions. Size: See last photo.

Six rare ancient glass beads from the Pyu era, three round glass beads and three crescent glass shaped beads. Size: Round ones: Diameter 2.6cm,3.2cm,2.5cm. Crescent ones: L. 3.5cm,3.5cm,4.5cm. Condition: Perfect. Some incrustation from long burial.Can be cleaned.

A finely carved lime box, its body in the form of a cone surmounting a flaring cylinder, decorated with three levels of an elaborate geometric design which is changing at each level. The stopper itself is decorated with two human heads back to back surmounting the neck adorned with a necklace. A bone spoon and a bone point are attached to the stopper, the link adorned with wood beads and tiny old glass beads. Fine age patina. Indonesia, Timor island. Height: 16.5 cm. Very good condition.

A beautiful ancient glass bangle in blueish green color. This probably from Vietnam or Cambodia. Size: Outside diameter 6.9cm. Condition: Almost perfect. A very small almost invisible chip on the outside edge.

A pair of ancient glass earrings. The glass is very light in weight and encrusted with soil from being buried for such a long period. Can be cleaned by soaking in warm water. The earrings are of a hooped shape that is simple and very elegant in form.

Very rare, large lidded rattan basket from the Nung Rawang ethnic group of Northern Burma, Kachin State. The Rawang are a subgroup of the Kachin people and live in some of the last great wilderness forests left in Burma. Also it is interesting to note that the men do the weaving and with advent of plastic bags this pretty much an extinct craft. This is the oldest basket from this group I have ever found- conservatively at least 50 years plus. HL 42cm/16.5in and D: 27cm/10.6in...

A large glass earring from Southeast Asia Cambodia. The earring has incrustation from being buried so long. Most of it can be removed by soaking it in water for several days. It would make a nice pendant. Size: Diameter 5cm. Condition: no chips or breaks . Age: 100 BC.
