Rivulets of ash dribble down the red earth sides of this vase by Nishiura Takeshi enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Echizen Henko. Positioning in the kiln, with one shoulder angled toward the flame, ensure the lip and one rounded corner are charred in that distinct ocher inidicative of the region. An unusual Japanese keyaki tansu/ Toranku with a deep original red lacquer finish. This sturdy trunk has a top locking lid opening to an upper storage compartment. Flat top allows items to be placed on the top aswell. The bottom of the trunk has a large single drawer with interesting diamond style decorative hardware, and flower shaped handle mounts. This is tsutsugaki & handwriting fireman's cotton coat sashiko hanten coat of a splendid firefighter of the late Tokugawa period of the Edo era(1800-1867). A fight of kawanakajima is a design. It is a very high technique. A samurai (takeda shingen and uesugi kenshin) and a horse are drawn and are also the uplifting feeling and the excitement which seem to begin to move shortly. This is Apron textile of the baby shibori & nishiki-ori of the last part of Edo era(1800-1867). It is a very impressive design. It has a thin stain. It has a little snag and part which I rubbed against. The black part is a velvet, and the lining is crimson silk. size:39cm x 37cm (15.3" x 14.5")

This is aya-Weave nishijin textile silk Bag of treasure in Edo period(1603-1867). It is very rare. There is rubbing in the part of the string. However, it is very good. This Tea Bowl (Chawan) in the style of Kenzan is decorated in white slip and underglaze iron.

This is an Edo period chawan by Japans greatest Poet Rengetsu Ōtagaki ( 1791 - 1875 ).

It shows a poem of herself, tastefully carved onto the tea bowl. The chawan has a wild and rough look and an aesthetic kintsugi ( gold repair ). A tasteful woodbox is also included.

Unusual colored Imari porcelain sake server with panels depicting a beauty and a courtier, flying cranes in background with scrolling vine and shippo design, gilt bronze rim at opening. Colors of medium blue, orange, red, brown and black. With fluted sides and 6 character mark on recessed bottom. Good condition.
