A sake set in the shape of a cha-usu tea powder grinding stone consisting of 7 pieces, each uniquely decorated with various creatures. Maki-e Cranes soar and a gilded tortoise takes refuge on a rock on this magnificent sake set made of wood covered in lacquer with elaborate maki-e and applied gold designs. About the edge of the stand is a solid silver rim. The scenes are depicted with powdered gold and applied gold kirigane on red and black grounds. This is of the highest quality. This is a very charming kimono made of thick cotton from the Meiji era. The outer material is stencil dyed, and the back side is asamai-shibori cloth with indigo dyeing. It's a technique called aigaeshi. There are no stains or damage, and the condition is very excellent. Recommended for your collection. Koi frolic, splashing gold and silver waves as they leap and battle for the top of this stacking food dish dating from the later 19th century. The design is striking! Outside is polished black loaded down with gold and silver maki-e with applied kirigane cut gold squares. Inside is festive red. The box (assembled) is 25 x 23 x 38 cm (10 x 9 x 15 inches). Some minor dings but overall, very nice condition for something which has seen use.

Antique Japanese small lacquer safe box with hinged door and 3 small interior drawers. Decorated on all sides including the drawer fronts with detailed harakusa (octopus vine) design in fine maki-e lacquer on a dense nashiji ground. The drawers are covered on all sides in fine nashiji gold flakes. Hardware is made of silver and incised with a similar scrolling vine motif.

This is mikuni-sashiko Indigo dye cotton noragi (Work clothes)textile of the Meiji era(1868-1912). It is cotton and sashiko stitch of very beautiful indigo dyeing. I can enjoy it with the both sides. It is very rare textile. I recommend it to collection of you. This is textile made in Fukui region. All this sashiko stitches are made by hand. It does not have a stain and damage. We are glad to offer you a rare and stunning Kosobe-yaki Chawan with a beautiful hand painting of pines and cranes, under thick cream colored glaze on very thinly potted clay blended with shiseki for great effect. This is likely the work of the second or third generation Shinbei, both known for their Korai-Utsushi (Korean style) wares. Finding such a delicate Chawan in such good condition from the Edo period is exceedingly rare. It comes with a shiho-san wooden box.
