A wonderful Japanese silk wall hanging embroidered with a river landscape showing an arched bridge leading to a temple. Bordered by a beautiful silvery brocade with alternating phoenix and dragon roundels, backed with a green-yellow fabric. The size of Fubako: 11 1/2" Long x 8 9/16" Wide x 2 1/16" High. This is beautiful and classy Japanese Shunkei Lacquer Fubako (stationary box) with fine Japanse Brocade design with flower and karakusa design. Inside has lavender color velvet inside cover as well as inside bottom. The condition of Fubako excellent. It never been used. There is no warping. No scratch and wear. Japanese Fruitwood round tray, carved from one piece of wood with high rim, Japanese Kanji writing in the center for "Good Health Prize" 11 1/2" diameter, 1 3/4" high, 1/2" thick for rim, in good beautiful condition.

The size of Tea Cup: 3 1/8" Dia x 2 1/4" High. The pair of Japanese Hakeme Tea Cups by 1st Kuze Kyuho (1874-1947). It is finely made with brownish earthen clay. It has finish of Hakeme, white brush stroke work glazing. The Tea cup is made finely finish. Each cup bear the Kyuho's round chop seal on the wide of Kodai (foot rim). Each cup has Japanese Kanji writing of "Konnichi An" which is name of Urasenke's Tea Room which was built by Sen Sotan (1578-1658)...

On one side of the inro, the stream falls over rocks and continues on the other side of the inro in a striated current. Various trees including blossoming fruit trees and pines spring from the rocks. Antique Japanese gold lacquer inro with 4 compartments. Decorated with a scene depicting a cottage high in the mountains. On one side, a small stream meanders by a thatched roof building with doors opening to a garden surrounded by a low fence and opened by a tall gate. A large, blossoming plum tree stretches it's branches dramatically over the roof and a mist floats over the top of the scene. A bowl or cup of unusual Klapmuts form with an angled everted rim decorated in under-glaze blue with Auntumn grasses, akikusa. Shards of identical cups have been excavated from the Okawachi kiln site and dated to the late Edo period and the first half of the Nineteenth century. A nice quality Arita porcelain bowl decorated with a design of four panels of Hosoge or Karahana, Tang Flowers, in contrasting Iron red and under-glaze blue. This design appears in a number of variations on Chinese export porcelain from the late Kangxi period onwards, whether this is the precedent or homage to the Chinese pattern is difficult to say, but the porcelain would appear to be at least contemporary with the in general poorer quality Chinese examples.
