The Kura
Sold, Thank you An incredible ivory netsuke of a Hannya devil mask with inlayed eyes. The detail in the Faust like features is absolutely superb. In this case I will let the photographs speak for us. Although not contemporary, this Netsuke dates from the mid 20th century. Due to certain features, we believe it was made in China prior to or during World War II, during Japans occupation (1932-1945). The, inlay in the eyes is consistent with this interpretation and the ivory appears to be of Indian origin...
Depicting a Taoist immortal with a little boy. Very well carved, signed at the back. Good wear and patina. H. 6,5 cm. 19th/early 20th century. From a Dutch private collection.
Of typical triangular shape. These netsuke were often carved by plectrum carvers. Made in Kyoto in the 18th century. H. 10 cm. Good age wear and patina, very good condition, even the feet are intact. Comes with a custom made brass stand.

On Hold A rare carved ivory Netsuke in the form of a Lion or Karashishi, made in Japan in the Edo / Tokugawa period (1600-1868), probably during the 18th Century. Condition: Excellent - age yellowing and cracks - no damages or losses and no restoration. 4cm (1.6inches)long; 3.6cm (1.3inches) high; 2.4cm (0.9inches) deep. Please note - purchasers from outside the European Union will require a CITES Certificate and may also require import documentation within their own country.

STOLEN A charming ivory shishi dog netsuke. Signed by artist and in excellent condition, it dates circa 1880-1900. Measures 1 3/4 inches long by 1 1/2 inches high.
Netsuke nicely carved to represent a man standing with a slightly mischievous expression and posture. Ivory, with a fine age patina. Japan, mid Edo Period. Height: 5.9 cm. Minute age cracks (absolutely no damage), slight erosion, otherwise very good condition.

Measures 1.50 inches (3.8cm) long, and one-inch (2.5cm) high.
