Antique Japanese iron tetsubin. The body is wide and short with a small water spout, its sides flared out and tapered back in at the center with flattened base. The bronze lid features a cherry blossom with decorative ball finial and tall bronze handle. The piece is in exceptional condition. Dates from Tiasho period c1920.

Japanese tetsubin or tea pot, typically constructed from iron with a large handle to be hung over a fire pit. The tea pot has a bronze lid with a flower shaped finial. Its body is covered in small protruding studs, incised rings around its widest point, and its foot has old patina.

A Japanese iron garden lantern often referred to as a toro. Often these lanterns are placed within a garden setting to guide guests towards a tea house or an entrance to a building. The iron lantern contains a short inscription with the date when the piece was made (first year of Taisho, 1912) and that the lantern was made by Yojiro. This beautiful bronze zen temple gong was made by one of Japan's great bronze craftsman who lived from The Meiji Period (1868) through the Showa Period. Famous for the gold shachihoko bronze fish on the roof of Nagoya Castle. This gong is dated Taisho 3 (Ca.1915). The writing has the date, the maker's name and all the donors' names. Excellent condition. H:56cm; diameter 30cm.

A one of a kind huge bronze lotus temple basin with a dragon wrapped around the base and coming over the top as a water fountain. The base has bronze shishi in relief. C.1880. Stands over 6 feet tall and 5 feet wide. We had the fountain installed. Comes in two pieces; the base and the basin. Excellent condition with a minor dent in the tail of the dragon. 55" tall by 30" in diameter. Dated Showa 25 ( 1950) . From Muneatsuji Temple in Gifu Prefecture. This Temple is connected to the Rinzai temple of Myoshinji in Kyoto. (Full translation of what is written on the bell is available). Made by Fujiwara Sadaatsu. Inscription says it was made for world peace.

Small bronze flared muzzle cannon of this type where made for shooting flaming arrows at ships. For launching fireworks at festivals and for signaling purposes. The example of cast bronze with a bore that is described as at the breach and the bore is reduced to a half round section to form a chamber for the powder mount for use.

Antique Japanese hair ornaments, Gin(Silver) Kanzashi with bira-bira danglings. This is an unusually large and heavy Kanzashi probably worn by Geisha. It was made for a very special occasion when a particularly elaborate hair style was needed. The ornaments are all made with silver and the bodies are plated on mixed metals. 16 petals chrysanthemum heads. This one is definitely for Kanzashi collector. Shorter one is tarnished more than the other
