Two hinged doors with gilt inlay court figures bear the signature seal of the artist. A beautiful Japanese lacquer jubako, or tiered storage box, with nishiji background made from sprinkled gold flakes. Each side is decorated by maki-e lacquer imagery of shochikubai, meaning "three friends of winter", bamboo, plum, and pine with gold and silver leaves and flowers. An exquisite Lacquer Tray decorated with a spray of flowering Azalea in gold powder with mother of pearl, ceramic and lead inlays. Large kirigane flakes of solid gold decorate the petals. It is enclosed in a wooden box titled Tsutsuji Maki-e Nagatebon (Azalea Makie-e Tray). It is quite large at 19-1/2 x 14-1/2 x 2 inches (49.5 x 37 x 4.5 cm) and is in fine condition, dating from teh later Meiji to early Taisho period (1895-1915).

Antique Japanese Funa Bako or ship safe chest with an original black lacquer finish. Ornate iron hardware decorates the front of the box with a side locking mechanism. Behind the front door are six drawers with ring pulls. Two of the drawers are precious and small, one labelled in kanji. Incredible attention to detail defines this large Pagoda entirely gilded in gold. It is 32 inches (81.5 cm) tall, 16 inches (41.5 cm) square at the base and in excellent condition. This would have been displayed in a Butsuma as a reliquary container. Both upper and lower doors open to reveal gold lined chambers in which the Buddhist objects could be stored. A couple of the small bells dangling from the eaves have been replaced or re-hung with wire...

A pleasure craft of solid burled wood covered in clear, black and red lacquer with inlayed mother of pearl designs which opens up to be a picnic box. The fore-peak is removable and opens to hold chopsticks. The upper cabin is a sake bottle, the roof a large plate, the the lower cabin food and rice storage.
