Spectacular Authentic Antique 19th century Meiji Period circa 1885 A.D. Japanese Satsuma Earthenware large planter-fish bowl.

The exterior is finely hand painted in raised enamels and gilded with two opposing large lobed panels depicting samurais, dressed in elaborated brocade kimonos, highlighted with gold and flanked by two vertical panels adorned with intricate geometric designs, and finished in raised enamel and gold...

A Hirado ware porcelain figure of a kirin (in Chinese, qilin). The mythical creature is part lion with the body of a dragon and the hooves of a deer. It represents good fortune, protection, prosperity, longevity and fertility. The recumbent kirin figure is executed with masterful attention to detail and form.

A good Nabeshima dish from the Nabeshima clan’s Okawachi kiln of oval boat shaped form, perhaps inspired by the boat shaped ingots, sychee or yuanbao, and decorated with an auspicious pattern of a pair of Goldfish swimming amongst water weeds. This particular pattern and shape belongs to a group of wares that were approved by the Shogun Ieharu in 1774 and were produced throughout the late Edo period for the consumption of the Shogunate. A shell shaped swirling form by young female artist Takatsu Mio enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 6-1/2 inches (16.5cm)wide, roughly 7 inches (18cm) tall and in excellent condition.
Takatsu Mio (b. 1976) was raised in Gifu prefecture among the scattered kilns of Mino. She graduated the Osaka University of Arts Sculpture Department in 1999, moving on to advanced studies which she completed in 2001. Her first exhibited works were in 1999, and then again in Tokyo in 2001...

A covered box in red tinged shino glaze by Hori Ichiro enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Nezumishino Tobako. The pin-holed thick white glaze appears to be licked by the shadows of the flames, and on one side the artists finger prints are clearly visible as four molten points. The way the reds move like vapor across the surface it is as if it is still on fire. It is 10 inches (28cm) long and in excellent condition.

A large and very expressive, ceramic figure of sitting shishi, lion-dog, with turned head. It is covered in a creamy, white crackled glaze. The open, staring eyes made of inserted glass are rendered with gold. Unsigned. Japan, late Edo, before 1850. H. 35 cm, L. 25 cm, W. 16 cm. Condition: good, but for a few chips, fire cracks and minor area of repair on underside.

Rare form of Japanese KO IMARI Porcelain Charger Size : 12" Dia x 2 1/8" OSHIDORI(Mandarin Ducks) and GENROKU Figures design with fine gold Decoration Old Imari pieces. The quality of this charger is superb as I ever seen the combination of fine brush handpainting, the motif design with the gold as well as the shape and quality of porcelain itself. Four(4) Japanese Imari Porcelain Soba Noodle Cups, Ca. mid 1800's, late Edo or early Meiji period, 3 1/8" diameter-cup top rim, 2 5/8" high, decorated Lotus, Peony and other floral design on the Rock garden, in underglaze Blue and White plus some red, green used, highlighted with Gold touch. Two(2) hairline on the glaze, one(1) bruise about 1/4" long, one(1) cup is in good condition. this lot is same decoration as lot #3A13.

Six(6) Japanese Imari Porcelain Soba Noodle Cups, Ca. mid 1800's, late Edo or Early Meiji period, 2 3/8" diameter-top rim, 1 3/4" high, decorated with blue and white and some green and red, Lotus, Peony and some other floral and foliage in the Rock Garden. One(1) glaze hairline on the cup, outside only, not inside, two(2) or three(3) frits on the rim of the cup.

Chinese Tang dynasty Changsha bowl. Diameter 15.3cm Height 5.5 cm. Bowl in good condition except chips (as seen in the picture) glaze erosion. Free from any restorations or repainted.

Wow! Is what comes to mind the first time you see this daring silver glazed organic Kake Hana-ire by Okumura Hiromi. The clay folds about onto itself, forming a seed-like pod, with an opening in the top and wings extending out both sides. A wire loop is affixed to the back for wall hanging. A signed and stamped wooden plackard by the artist accompanies the piece. It is 11 x 14 x 5 inches (28 x 36 x 13 cm) and is in fine condition...
