An elegant ceramic obidome (obi clasp) with silver mount (guaranteed) formed as a leaf, glazed in mottled tones of red and blue, with a hand woven silk cord dyed in the same colors; all contained in original box from Matsumasa, Kyoto. Taisho/early Showa period.

The actual colors are gentle; red in blue/purple tint with a soft blue color. What did not show in the photos are the exact matching colors of the ceramic leaf and silk cord...

Art deco oribe ceramic vase by Shigetaka Kato b.1927-d.2013. Shigetaka was born the second son of Kato Tokuro in 1927. He graduated the Seto Industrial School of Ceramics and studied under his father. From 1959-1971 submitted annually to the Nitten where he received the Hokusho prize as well as the Modern Ceramics Prize among others. Antique Japanese oribe ware chawan (tea cup). Buff color stoneware with reddish brown translucent glaze. Two areas of thick white crackle glaze with black brushwork motifs give this cup it's traditional oribe appearance. Satisfying weight and shape. Lovely drips and depth. With tomobako.

Japanese contemporary studio ware ceramic vase. Made with reddish clay and sculpted in a rounded triangular form with three large flat sides. Three curved triangular shoulders taper downward. Covered with a thick translucent white glaze with pleasing drips and crackles.

The interior of the vase is slightly ribbed with vertical lines going down its sides, with a yellow/brown/green and blue glaze. Signature on bottom. Japanese Ceramic Wall Vase, or Wall Pocket for Ikebana flower arrangement with green drip glaze on brown rope twisted surface, hole in the upper back to hang on the wall. The condition is good.

Japanese antique Satsuma ware incensor in the form of a fudog with a child on top of a drum on his back, very charming, drum is painted with images of children, Meiji Period. Size: 5 3/4" high x 5" long.

A collection of 8 different porcelain Imari animals. 3 cats, 3 ducks, 2 frogs. Largest 19 cm tall. All with hand painted inscriptions. Frogs hand painted by YaYou Zhen Cang. All in excellent condition. Estimated to be 20th century or earlier. Sold as a collection. Can be viewed in central London.

Old (1930's) Japanese Satsuma Lobe Shaped Censer with Geisha & Samurai Marked Nambe

It is 5.1 inches (13 cm) tall by 5.5 inches (14 cm) wide It is 1.7 Lb.

It has chips at the lid's inside rim, rubbing of golds, crazing and glaze crack at the bottom, and surface wears (as seen in the photos).
